The Vanguard Group’s Chief Economist, Joe Davis, Ph.D. will join Savant for an evening of discussion on the economy’s recent challenges. Dr. Davis will give insight on how Vanguard is dealing with getting investors’ portfolios back on the right track and how long that might take.
Dr. Davis helps formulate the macroeconomic outlook as a member of the senior strategy group for Vanguard’s actively managed bond funds. He is also a member of the Vanguard Investment Committee, which oversees the strategic asset allocation of its Target Retirement, LifeStrategy®, and Managed Payout Funds.
Dr. Davis is frequently quoted in the financial press on macroeconomic trends and also publishes studies on a variety of investment and economic issues in leading academic and practitioner journals. He has presented his research at various academic and business forums. In 2004, Dr. Davis was selected as a Faculty Research Fellow of the prestigious National Bureau of Economic Research. He earned his Ph.D. in macroeconomics and finance at Duke University.
