Savant Honored with National Philanthropy Day Award

Savant Named Outstanding Organization

Rockford, IL (November 9, 2011) – Savant Capital Management, a nationally recognized fee-only wealth management firm headquartered in Rockford, is pleased to announce it has received the Association for Fundraising Professionals Outstanding Corporation Award for the Rockford Area Chapter. The AFP Rockford Area Chapter presented Savant with the award during its annual National Philanthropy Day luncheon on November 8 at Forest Hills Country Club.

Savant has a long history demonstrating its commitment to the community and Rockford-area residents. Savant has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to support many organizations and the programs they provide. Some of these include Rockford Symphony Orchestra, Rock Valley College Foundation, Rockford Art Museum, Midway Village Museum, Rockford Area Arts Council, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center, Family Counseling Services and many others. Savant has also supported the long-term future of area organizations through support of several capital campaigns. Most recently, Savant has supported projects that include The United for Youth joint campaign for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, the Rockford Park District Nicholas Conservatory, and the Connecting our Future Campaign of the Burpee Museum of Natural History and the Discovery Center Museum.

For more than 50 years, AFP has been the standard bearer for professionalism in fundraising. AFP represents more than 30,000 members in 200 chapters throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and certification programs. The association fosters development and growth of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the fundraising profession. The Rockford chapter of the AFP celebrates National Philanthropy Day each November to recognize the strength of the local philanthropic community.
