Savant Advisor Presents at Conference for Physicians

Rockford, IL (October 17, 2011) – Dr. Brian Knabe, a financial advisor with Savant Capital Management and a practicing physician, recently presented at the 8th Annual SEAK Non-Clinical Careers Conference. The conference, which took place in Chicago from September 24-25, was attended by 200 physicians. The conference is geared towards physicians who would like to explore opportunities outside of the medical field or in a non-clinical setting.
Dr. Knabe presented Opportunities Available for Physicians in the Financial Industry and How to Obtain Them. He explained the many and varied positions in the financial industry. He discussed the unique abilities and qualities physicians bring to the table, and the professional designations and certifications available. Dr. Knabe also offered practical advice on how physicians can position themselves as an expert and leverage their experience to transition into the financial industry.
In 2007, Dr. Knabe began working for Savant as a financial advisor. He draws upon his experience from the medical field as he works with clients, advisors, portfolio managers, and planners in order to develop comprehensive planning, investment, and tax strategies for professionals. Dr. Knabe is a magna cum laude graduate of Marquette University with an honors degree in biomedical engineering. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and has earned the Degree of Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP). Dr. Knabe also attended the University of Illinois for his family practice residency, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Knabe is a Certified Medical Planner (CMPTM), has earned a Certificate in Financial Planning from Marquette University, and recently received his certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. He is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine with the University of Illinois. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Illinois State Medical Society, and the Catholic Medical Association. He serves on the Executive Committee at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford, and on the Executive Board for the Blackhawk Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America as well as the Haven Network board.
