Cal Brown Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from Local Financial Planning Association Chapter

Savant Capital Management, a nationally recognized, fee-only wealth management firm headquartered in Rockford, IL, with an additional location in McLean, is excited to announce that Financial Advisor Cal Brown has received the 2020 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of the National Capital Area Chapter. He was presented with the award during the organization’s 2020 Winter Educational Symposium on Jan. 24 at Tysons Marriott, Tysons Corner. 

The chapter’s Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a financial planner who has been a member of FPA for 10 years or more, has been recognized for service to the organization or profession, and is involved in local or national organizations such as the CFP Board or the College of Financial Planning.

Brown is a financial advisor with Savant, a member of the firm’s Advisory Team and Investment Committee and is responsible for managing all aspects of the financial planning and investment process for Savant’s clients. He has worked in the financial services industry since 1984, and is the author of the book, When Life Strikes: Weathering Financial Storms. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and currently an adjunct professor in the MST program at American University, teaching the estate planning course.

Brown also has been previously recognized by The Washingtonian and Northern Virginia magazines as one of the top financial planners in the greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Three of his professional articles have been published in the Journal of Financial Planning, and he has written articles appearing in Bloomberg Wealth Manager and Financial Planning magazines.
