September 12, 2013
Rockford, IL (September 12, 2013) – It’s hard to believe that we are nearing the five-year anniversary of the most intense phase of the great financial crisis. Now the big question is, how is our economy doing today and most importantly what is the future of financial markets?
To help better understand these questions, Savant Capital Management is happy to welcome Gus Sauter, former Chief Investment Officer of Vanguard, to Rockford on Thursday, September 19. Sauter will address some common questions investors have such as “Is market volatility here to stay?” and “Where are interest rates headed?” Sauter will also discuss the future of the markets and how to invest for the long run given today’s landscape.
The former Chief Investment Officer is now a senior consultant to Vanguard, an investment company that manages approximately $2.0 trillion in assets. During his time as Chief Investment Officer, he was responsible for the oversight of approximately $1.7 trillion managed globally by Vanguard Fixed Income and Equity Investment Groups. He currently participates on the Council of The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and the online forum The Experts hosted by The Wall Street Journal. Additionally, he earned an A.B. in economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. in finance from The University of Chicago.
“We are excited to have Gus Sauter join us in Rockford,” said Brent Brodeski, CEO of Savant Capital Management. “Mr. Sauter is one of the most accomplished financial leaders in the industry. He has a wealth of knowledge and will provide us with an in-depth understanding of some of the key issues investors face in today’s market environment.”
